Mentors sought to help Moncton youth
– MONCTON, NB, Aug. 11, 20201 – Do you want to be a role-model for youth and help them overcome challenges in everyday life? If you answered yes, the YMCA of Greater Moncton has just the program for you! We are looking to recruit new mentors for our YMCA Plusone Mentoring Program. Just two hours of your time each week could make a huge difference in the life of a youth who needs a little guidance to reach their full potential.
Fun Fest: Let’s CONNECT! taking place Aug. 21
– Moncton, NB Aug. 9, 2021 – The YMCA Community Action Network’s Summer Cohort is presenting Fun Fest: Let’s CONNECT! - a FREE local community event. “The event aims to encourage the public to socialize and have fun after a period of time where connection wasn’t encouraged,” says Miko Keanu, Marketing Manager of the project. “We hope to educate about local issues, and share the beauty of multiculturalism and diversity that our city has.” Fun Fest: Let’s CONNECT! will be held Aug. 21 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the YMCA North End location (70 Twin Oaks Drive). Admission is free.
Transition into Green Phase – July 30, 2021
The Province of New Brunswick will lift its mandatory order on July 30 at 11:59 p.m., and this will remove all restrictions in the province as it goes to the Green Phase of the COVID-19 Recovery Plan. The YMCA will be following all guidelines and regulations according to provincial government and the Department of Health. Since the pandemic began, we have followed Public Health recommendations and that journey will continue.
YMCA Community Action Network team launches wellness mural series
(Moncton, NB July 7, 2021) - The YCAN Moncton Staff Team has just launched their mural project - Slash the Stigma. Slash the Stigma is an interactive mural project comprising of three murals, two located at the YMCA Moncton North, 70 Twin Oaks Drive and one located at the YMCA of Greater Moncton, 30 War Veterans Ave.
YMCA Canada, Canada Day 2021 Statement

YMCA “A”-Team to plant fruit trees to help with food security
(Moncton, May 10, 2021) - The YMCA Community Action Network A-Team (short for Apple Team) is working on a project called the Free Fruit Project. The team will be planting a total of 10 fruit trees along the Riverfront Trail in Riverview NB through May 2021 to help increase food security.
