Hosted at YMCA Moncton North, the goal of Youth Connections is to give youth a safe space to call their own, where they can socialize, make new friendships, and learn life skills. Youth Connections has three pillars: socializing, life skills and community-based volunteering.
Following today’s announcement that our region is able to enter the Yellow phase of recovery, we are happy to announce the following changes that will be implemented as of Monday, March 8, 2021.
We’d like to give everyone an update regarding the status of our YMCA since we shuttered our health, fitness and aquatics services. As you are aware, we decided to shutter our fitness programming and facilities on January 6th in reaction to the province moving to the Orange Level. Since then, the Moncton area moved to the Red Level which was much more restrictive. As announced February 8th, the Moncton area will move back to the Orange Level. This is encouraging news for our community.
MONCTON - The YMCA Community Action Network (YCAN) has not let the pandemic slow down youth service projects. YCAN is bringing a new project to the community: named The Coronicles as a way for youth to share their experiences from the Coronavirus pandemic.

(Moncton, January 5, 2021) – The YMCA of Greater Moncton will close both of their fitness facilities as of end of business today based on the decision of the province of New Brunswick to revert the entire province to the Orange Alert Level due to the recent increase of positive COVID-19 cases. We will remain closed until we return to the Yellow Alert Level.
The Government of New Brunswick announced yesterday that Zone 1 will move back to the Yellow Phase of recovery effective 12:00 am December 7, 2020. We’re so relieved to hear this and happy to share what this change means for our Y and our members.
