To our valued members,

The YMCA of Greater Moncton is loosening restrictions with 75 % of New Brunswickers 12 and older having received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

Active screening at the front entrances of YMCA of Greater Moncton locations off Vaughan Harvey Boulevard and Twin Oaks Drive will end as of end of business today. All visitors must self-screen prior to entering the Y, and wearing of masks will remain mandatory while not actively working out.  Screening questions can be found at:

The loosening of this restriction falls in line with the provincial government’s path toward the Green level of the COVID-19 recovery plan.

The government plan includes three phases to slowly loosen restrictions, with target dates based on vaccination rates, low numbers of COVID-19 hospitalizations and all health zones remaining at the Yellow alert level. The government has announced that the first phase of their plan has been achieved and this is why the YMCA of Greater Moncton is removing active screening.

The YMCA of Greater Moncton has been actively screening all who enter our facilities since the pandemic began.  We will return to active screening if the need should arise in our community.

Non-members will be asked to report to the Membership Desk for contact tracing purposes.
Please note that the following requirements remain in place at the YMCA of Greater Moncton:

While masks are not required by individuals while participating in an indoor fitness activity that requires exertion, they must be worn at all other times, including walking from one station to another where there is higher likelihood of coming in contact with another patron. If wearing a mask is possible for some fitness activities, this will be encouraged.
Masks are required in dressing rooms, combined with 1 metre minimum physical distancing between individuals.
We thank all our members for their cooperation and amazing ability to adapt. Thank you for staying with us!
