Financial Assistance

At the YMCA of Greater Moncton, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to shine, belong, and grow. That’s why we offer Financial Assistance for individuals and families who would benefit from joining the YMCA but are unable—not unwilling—to pay the full membership or program fees.

If you or a loved one could use support to participate in YMCA programs, we’re here to help. Together, we can ensure that everyone has the chance to be part of our Y community.

How To Apply?

  1. Complete the application form and gather the required documents.
    Please include proof of income for anyone 18+ in your household (e.g., two months of recent pay stubs, social assistance documents, or your most recent Notice of Assessment from CRA).
  2. Submit your application in person. Bring everything to our Membership Services Desk. We’ll review your application with care and confidentiality.
    Please note: Applications cannot be accepted via email at this time.

What you Can Expect:

  • Applications are typically processed within 2–3 business days.
  • Assistance is granted for a term of 3 to 6 months, based on individual needs.
  • At the end of your term, you are welcome to reapply if support is still needed.
  • All information is kept strictly confidential and reviewed with compassion and respect.

Frequently asked questions

We ask that you keep all information and fees discussed confidential.
Everyone must pay some portion of the annual membership/program fee.
Your request could be denied if your financial information does not identify an inability to pay for the fees or if you are missing some of the required information.
All memberships have an expiration date. The YMCA does not remind you when your membership expires. As a member, it is your responsibility to contact Membership Services to renew your membership. You must bring in your current income documents to be renewed.
