Moncton, NB – On April 24th, the YMCA of Greater Moncton hosted its 154th Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the YMCA Moncton North location, drawing a diverse group of attendees, including community partners, government officials, board members, staff, volunteers, and members. The event marked a significant moment of reflection and celebration as the YMCA continues to grow, thrive, and serve the community.
This year, the YMCA achieved a milestone in membership, surpassing 8,200 members, all of whom are benefitting from the range of impactful programs offered by the organization. With a strong commitment to inclusivity, wellness, and community, the AGM highlighted the collective efforts that make the YMCA of Greater Moncton a central hub for positive change.
“We’ve seen tremendous growth, not just in our membership numbers, but in the way we’ve touched the lives of those in our community,” said Marilou Savoie, Chair of the Board of Directors. “Our continued success is a direct result of the commitment of our staff, volunteers, and partners who work tirelessly to help us serve. I am so proud of the progress we’ve made and the path ahead of us.”
Marilou extended her heartfelt gratitude to the Board, staff, volunteers, and community partners for their unwavering support. She emphasized that the YMCA is not just a place to work out—it’s a place where connections are made, families are supported, and lives are transformed.
Zane Korytko, CEO of the YMCA of Greater Moncton, delivered a passionate report on the organization’s growth and the impact it continues to make. “Our membership and program growth reflect the trust the community places in the YMCA. But beyond the numbers, it’s about the individuals whose lives we’re changing every day.” said Zane. He took a moment to acknowledge the heart of the organization — the volunteers, who in the past year, dedicated nearly 10,000 hours to support the Y, making an incredible difference in the lives of so many.
He also expressed deep gratitude to the YMCA’s community partners and government officials who were in attendance, highlighting the vital role their support plays in the organization’s continued success. Zane noted that without these collaborative partnerships, the YMCA would not be able to serve the community at the level it does today.
Looking Ahead: As the YMCA of Greater Moncton moves forward, the organization is poised for even greater impact in the years to come. With ongoing support from our dedicated staff, volunteers, community partners, and government officials, the YMCA will continue to provide a welcoming space for all, fostering wellness, community engagement, and personal growth.
