(Moncton – March 25, 2022) – The YMCA Community Action Network is proud to announce Explore Your Paths – Life After High School. A YCAN cohort comprised of university students have come together to create Explore Your Paths – a virtual seminar aiming to give High School Students the opportunity to hear from youth speakers with varying experiences, as they plan what to do upon finishing High School.

The Explore Youth Paths – Life After High School seminar will include presentations and conversations with folks currently attending university, college, and that entered the workforce right after High School. These speakers will give participants an opportunity to learn from them; as well as ask questions about their experiences. The goal is to provide current High School students with real examples of the diverse paths available.

The seminar will also touch on mental health after high school, resume building, and scholarship applications. This talented group of speakers are all experienced in their fields and aim to offer insight into the options available to students.

Explore Your Path – Life After High School is scheduled for Wednesday, March 30th from 6PM-8pm AST. The event will be hosted virtually via Zoom. Students can register to attend via this link or by contacting Hailey at hailey.white@ymcamoncton.ca. The event is open to a maximum of 100 students. It will also be recorded for those who can’t attend the live session that will be available upon request. Students in attendance will receive free YMCA merchandise delivered to their schools.

The YMCA Community Action Network is a national program that works with youth between the ages of 15-30. Participants are asked to come together, select a community issue they are passionate about, and develop a service project to address the issue. The group ends their time in YCAN by watching their service project come to fruition and delivering it to the community.
