Moncton, NB – On November 13, 2025, the YMCA of Greater Moncton proudly celebrated the 5th Anniversary of the North End YMCA, bringing together North End capital donors, partners, staff, and community leaders for an evening of reflection and celebration. Hosted at the YMCA Moncton – North End, the reception honoured the remarkable impact this centre has made since opening its doors in 2020.

The North End YMCA was originally built on a shared vision: a welcoming space where individuals and families could connect, grow, and belong. Five years later, that vision has flourished into a vibrant community hub that serves thousands each year.

A Milestone Worth Celebrating

In his remarks, Zane Korytko, CEO of the YMCA of Greater Moncton, expressed deep appreciation for the many people who helped transform the idea of a North End Y into a reality.

“From the very beginning, the North End community envisioned a place where people could come together to connect, grow, and belong, and thanks to the generosity of our incredible donors, along with vital support from the City of Moncton, the Province of New Brunswick, and the Federal Government, that vision came to life,” said Korytko.

“A million thanks to our dedicated volunteers and supports for their unwavering commitment and leadership. The North End Y stands as a testament to what’s possible when a community works together.”

The evening gathered a group of supporters and partners who have played an essential role in strengthening families, enhancing community health, and expanding access to YMCA programs and services in one of the fastest-growing areas of the city.

Recognizing the Community Behind Our Success

Attendees reflected on years of shared accomplishments — from expanding programming for children and teens, to growing wellness initiatives, to providing financial assistance that ensures every individual has a place at the YMCA regardless of financial circumstances.

The YMCA also wishes to highlight Eva Reutov, Primary Youth Worker in the Back On Track program. Eva’s honesty, experience, and the heart she brings to this work remind everyone why this space exists and why it continues to matter. The YMCA is grateful for her sharing her story and for being such an important part of what makes this place so special.

The YMCA also extends heartfelt gratitude to:

  • Donors, whose generosity continues to fuel the Centre’s growth.
  • Community partners and government officials, whose collaboration enables the YMCA to serve more people each year.
  • Cabinet Committee members, whose time, guidance, and commitment helped shape the vision and trajectory of the North End YMCA.
  • Members and families, who form the heart of the North End YMCA.

Looking Ahead: Building the Next Five Years Together

As the YMCA of Greater Moncton looks toward the future, the North End YMCA will continue to be a place where people of all ages and backgrounds can access life-changing programs. From health and wellness to youth development and community outreach, the Y remains committed to fostering belonging, safety, and opportunity for all.

The 5th Anniversary celebration highlighted not only how far the centre has come, but also the exciting possibilities ahead.
