YMCA of Greater Moncton is proud to announce that, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Premier Blaine Higgs have reached a historic agreement to implement $10-a-day child care for families across New Brunswick within the next five years. Additionally, the Prime Minister announced that by the end of next year, child care fees will be halved in the Province with the introduction of 3400 new Early Learning and Child Care spaces across the province.
The significant announcement was made at the YMCA of Greater Moncton’s Vaughan Harvey Child Care site and furthers the federal government’s plan to invest $491 million over five years to cut child care prices across Canada to an average of $10 per day as outlined in the 2021 federal budget.
