Since 2008, René has been a shining example of what it means to give back. A devoted volunteer at the YMCA Vaughan Harvey, René pours his heart into the community gardens and gymnasium—and it shows.

From maintaining compost to keeping the water barrels just right, his care and dedication help our community gardeners grow more than just vegetables—they grow connections. 🌿

René’s passion for volunteering comes from his deep love for the Y and the people in it. As he puts it:
“I love everything about it. I love the people, they love me back—everyone is so nice.”
