To our valued members,

The YMCA of Greater Moncton will be forced to close both of our facilities as of end of business on Friday, January 14, 2022 based on the decision of the province of New Brunswick to impose a lockdown due to the increasing number of hospitalizations.  This closure affects the YMCA’s Health, Fitness and Aquatics Centre. We will remain closed until advised by government health officials that we are able to reopen.

As in past, no funds will be removed from our members’ accounts during this closure.  All memberships will be ‘frozen’ until we are given permission to reopen our facilities.  Once that happens, all memberships will be re-activated immediately.

We are disappointed that the government has taken this action.  We know that our members, volunteers and staff entering this building are fully vaccinated.  We have continually gone above and beyond to provide a safe environment for you.  Physical and mental health are imperative during this pandemic.  This fact seems to have been missed by those making these decisions.  If you aren’t currently following us on social media, please consider doing so.  We will post updates and links to some virtual classes to help keep our members moving during this closure.

As a charity we provide vital community programs and services. To offer these programs, we rely on revenue from membership, programs & services as well as donations. At this time, please consider converting your membership fee to a donation. For more information on how you can give, please contact Jeff MacNeil at jeff.macneil@ymcamoncton.ca or follow this link – https://moncton.ymca.ca/opportunities-to-give/

Any gifts $10 or more are eligible for a charitable tax receipt.

Our ReConnect outreach program will continue to serve our community’s most vulnerable citizens.  Plusone, YCAN, Alternative Suspension and Adult Day Program will all continue (virtually where possible). Our Childcare center and both Afterschool Programs will remain open.

If this closure is upsetting to you, please contact your local MLA.  We did.
