Moncton, April 22, 2024 – The YMCA of Greater Moncton held its 153rd Annual General Meeting on Thursday, April 18, 2024, marking another successful year of community engagement and growth.
Celebrating a year of achievements, the YMCA highlighted successful partnerships, community programs, and steady membership growth and stability. The event provided an opportunity to reflect on the organization’s impactful contributions to the Greater Moncton community throughout 2023.
Gratitude was expressed to the dedicated staff, volunteers, members, donors, funders, and community partners whose support continues to drive the YMCA’s mission forward.
Speakers Baruch Zohar, YMCA Youth Transitions Support Worker, and Hali Douthwright, YMCA ADP participant and philanthropist, shared inspiring stories of their experiences with the YMCA, underscoring the organization’s profound impact on individuals’ lives.
A significant highlight of the AGM was the official launch of the new initiative and brand platform, Shine On, led by Sheriza De Guzman, Vice President of Membership Sales and Marketing. Shine On aims to let everyone’s potential shine by empowering individuals and enriching the community through its programs and initiatives.
In addition, the AGM marked the conclusion of Mike Mann’s term as Chairperson of the YMCA Board. Marilou Savoie was announced as the new Chairperson, bringing with her a wealth of experience and dedication to the YMCA’s mission.
The meeting was held at the YMCA Moncton North location, with approximately 100 attendees.
