Swim Options & Activities

Come and enjoy the water at your own convenience! Our pools are available for drop-in and lane swimming throughout the day. No matter how busy you are, there is a swim time to fit your schedule.

Supervision of Children
To ensure safety and security of children while at the YMCA, please follow our Program Participation Policy at all times.

Supervision at the Aquatic Center
For increased safety, all swimmers under the age of 12 who want to swim in the main pool must complete a brief swim test conducted by an onsite lifeguard prior to swimming in the pool. Upon completion, the child will be given a GREEN wristband, allowing them to enter the main pool. Those who decide not to do the swim test and those who are unsuccessful in completing the swim test, can swim with their parent/guardian in the pool with the exception of the deep end, which is past the buoy line in the main pool. Parents/guardians must remain within ‘direct supervision’ at all times for non-instructed programs like public swims.

YMCA Lane Swims let you swim at your own pace, providing great cardiovascular exercise and improved muscle strength without stressing your joints. Lanes are available for all swim abilities. Make it a habit and you’ll soon be on your way to healthier you!

Pre-registration for all public swims is required. All public swims are free for YMCA members. Our Sunday public swims – sponsored by the City of Moncton – is just $3 for non-members. Our public swim passes for non-members are as follows:

Adult $10.00 +tax
Youth (13 and over) $8.00 (no tax)
Child (12 and under) $8.00 (no tax)
Family (immediate family only) $20.00 +tax

Swim participants must wear a bathing cap. Non-members aged 18 and over must also bring a valid government-issued photo ID. Youth 11 and under must be accompanied by an adult in the Y’s Aquatic Facility. All non-members must have their photo taken and saved in our database before entering our facility.

See our schedule for times.

Getting time to work out with your little one can be a challenge. YMCA Parent and Tot swim sessions give you time to play, move, and splash in the pool with your infant, toddler, or preschooler and ensure you and your child get the most from your time together.

Enjoy a nice stretch or just relax in our therapy pool, warmed to approximately 92 degrees.

Come join in the fun for a full hour dedicated to tween zone! Lots of fun pool games, activities and access to the climbing wall!

Aquatic Fitness

Want to add a little variety to group fitness classes? Just add water! The properties of water will bring a new dynamic to your workout. The resistance of the water strengthens your muscles as you push and pull your body through the water. While moving at top speed, or any speed, your body weight is supported by the buoyancy of the water, so you reduce the impact on your joints as you improve your cardiovascular fitness.

Experience a refreshing way to challenge your body and boost your energy with our Aqua Fitness program. This high-energy class leverages the natural resistance of water to deliver a comprehensive full-body workout while remaining incredibly gentle on your joints and muscles. Whether you are looking to build strength, improve your cardiovascular health, or simply enjoy a social workout, our classes offer a welcoming environment for every fitness level.

In partnership with the City of Moncton, Prime Time Aquafit is available to all non-members on Wednesdays from 9:00AM to 10:00AM for a special drop-in rate of only $3.00.

Experience the soothing power of Tai Chi in an aquatic setting. Ai Chi is a unique blend of controlled, flowing movements and deep breathing designed to strengthen the body and calm the soul. The water provides a gentle resistance that supports your balance while challenging your muscles, making it a restorative experience for both your physical and mental well-being. Whether you are looking to improve your mobility or simply want a moment of peace in your day, Ai Chi offers a unique way to move, breathe, and restore your energy.

Take your yoga practice off the mat and into the soothing warmth of our therapy pool. Aqua Yoga adapts traditional poses to the water, allowing the natural buoyancy to support your body while the warmth helps your muscles relax deeper into every stretch. It is a perfect choice for anyone looking to improve their flexibility, find physical release, and enjoy a quiet moment of mindfulness in a weightless environment.

Take your running routine into the water for a high-intensity, low-impact cardio challenge. Our Aqua Jog classes use specialized buoyancy belts to keep you suspended, allowing you to focus on speed and interval training without the hard impact of the road. You’ll experience a dynamic mix of jogging in both the deep and shallow ends, providing a powerful full-body workout that builds endurance and strengthens your core. It’s the perfect way to get your heart rate up while protecting your joints.

Turn the pool into your personal gym with Hydro Circuit. This station-formatted class takes you through a targeted series of exercises designed to build muscular strength, endurance, and heart health. Because the water provides constant resistance from every angle, each station offers a full-body challenge that is as effective as it is low-impact. Whether you are looking to push your limits or just want a well-rounded workout that covers all the bases, Hydro Circuit provides a dynamic and engaging path to reaching your fitness goals.
