Swim Options & Activities

Come and enjoy the water at your own convenience! Our pools are available for drop-in and lane swimming throughout the day. No matter how busy you are, there is a swim time to fit your schedule.

Supervision of Children
To ensure safety and security of children while at the YMCA, please follow our Program Participation Policy at all times.

Supervision at the Aquatic Center
For increased safety, all swimmers under the age of 12 who want to swim in the main pool must complete a brief swim test conducted by an onsite lifeguard prior to swimming in the pool. Upon completion, the child will be given a GREEN wristband, allowing them to enter the main pool. Those who decide not to do the swim test and those who are unsuccessful in completing the swim test, can swim with their parent/guardian in the pool with the exception of the deep end, which is past the buoy line in the main pool. Parents/guardians must remain within ‘direct supervision’ at all times for non-instructed programs like public swims.

YMCA Lane Swims let you swim at your own pace, providing great cardiovascular exercise and improved muscle strength without stressing your joints. Lanes are available for all swim abilities. Make it a habit and you’ll soon be on your way to healthier you!

Pre-registration for all public swims is required. All public swims are free for YMCA members. Our Sunday public swims – sponsored by the City of Moncton – is just $3 for non-members. Our public swim passes for non-members are as follows:

Adult $8.00 +tax
Youth (13 and over) $5.00 (no tax)
Child (12 and under) $5.00 (no tax)
Family (immediate family only) $15.00 +tax

Swim participants must wear a bathing cap. Non-members aged 18 and over must also bring a valid government-issued photo ID. Youth 11 and under must be accompanied by an adult in the Y’s Aquatic Facility. All non-members must have their photo taken and saved in our database before entering our facility.

See our schedule for times.

Getting time to work out with your little one can be a challenge. YMCA Parent and Tot swim sessions give you time to play, move, and splash in the pool with your infant, toddler, or preschooler and ensure you and your child get the most from your time together.

Enjoy a nice stretch or just relax in our therapy pool, warmed to approximately 92 degrees.

Come join in the fun for a full hour dedicated to tween zone! Lots of fun pool games, activities and access to the climbing wall!

Aquatic Fitness

Want to add a little variety to group fitness classes? Just add water! The properties of water will bring a new dynamic to your workout. The resistance of the water strengthens your muscles as you push and pull your body through the water. While moving at top speed, or any speed, your body weight is supported by the buoyancy of the water, so you reduce the impact on your joints as you improve your cardiovascular fitness.

A full body workout in the water!

This is Tai Chi, aquatic style. Experience slow, controlled movements using the water as resistance to gently condition, strengthen and rejuvenate your soul.

Enjoy yoga poses in the warmth of the therapy pool. Designed for relaxation, stretching and flexibility.

A gentle-to-moderate exercise program to strengthen and stretch your muscles.  Ideal for participants with limited mobility.

A dynamic, 30-minute workout using Aqua Belts for support. Enjoy a combination of jogging in the deep end and shallow ends of the pool with challenges of speed and interval training while suspended.

A station formatted workout. Stations can train an individual aerobically or for muscular strength and endurance, or a mixture of the two.
