New YMCA in the North End

The YMCA of Greater Moncton is excited to partner with the City of Moncton, working together to realize the dream of a centre for community through the design and construction of a new YMCA in Moncton's North End.

The new YMCA is projected to open in the fall of 2020. Located on a new Twin Oaks Drive extension that will be built by the city, the satellite facility will help our YMCA greatly expand its ability to build a healthier, more active, more connected community.  It will complement the services offered by the downtown YMCA, which will continue to operate as usual.

Work on the YMCA in the North End is being carried with funding support from the federal, provincial and municipal governments. The Y will also undertake a $3-million capital campaign.

The new 35,000-square-foot facility in the North End will include:

  • Lobby/reception area for gathering, socializing and program viewing
  • Indoor splash pad area and indoor playground
  • Outdoor playground
  • Gymnasium
  • Indoor track for running, walking and wheeling
  • Functional fitness, strength conditioning and weight program spaces
  • Multiple program studios
  • Universal change room
  • Community-meeting and multi-purpose space

The impact of this project will go well beyond the walls of the new building. The YMCA in the North End will give us the tools, capacity and sustainability to continue to grow our services for years to come. Our vision for the new YMCA includes a healthier, more inclusive, more connected community. Help support our mission and stay in touch for project updates.
