(Thursday, October 3, 2019) – The YMCA of Greater Moncton is seeking nominations for its 2019 Peace Medals.

“These awards recognize the achievements of individuals or groups who demonstrate values such as equality, cultural diversity, tolerance, respect and conflict resolution,” says Jaime MacLellan, Sr. Director, Education, Youth Leadership and Global Initiatives for the local Y. “We need your help to identify those involved in peacemaking initiatives in local or international communities.”

Since 1987, YMCAs across Canada have given out Peace Medals as a reminder that a more peaceful world is possible and that everyone can contribute to peace.

Full details on nomination criteria and submissions are available at www.ymcamoncton.ca. Nominations close October 18, 2019.
